History Behind Halloween
This herald the onset of costume clad children and adults who go around the neighborhood asking for treats from the homeowners.
One easy way to do this is with a food that you should be able to find easily in the fall: yams. Children enjoy getting this kind of Halloween candy and they often compare what candies they have received from houses to their friends. Neighbors try to outdo each other by purchasing the best decorations and arranging the scariest, silliest, or weirdest Halloween landscape in their yards and homes. The cheapest versions consists of a cardboard cut out that is painted black with white bones that can easily be hung on a door or a wall. Sending cards, whether at home or during school, can bring many smiles from children as it prolongs the evening of trick or treating.
